Allied Modular Building Systems, based in Orange California and specializes in providing enclosures of all sorts various markets including Fortune 500 companies, retail, clean rooms, and the contract furniture industry. We specialize in providing pre-manufactured modular solutions through multiple brands. Allied Modular, provides engineering, products, and services to this vast array of consumers. 

POSITION SUMMARY
Production and Purchasing Assistant supports the Production Manager by ensuring all raw materials arrive on time for production, all inventory is received and accounted for and by supporting communication with manufacturing and services teams. This position requires extensive knowledge of the Material Requisition Process including purchasing, inventory control and office administration, as well as logistical experience with booking trucks for shipments to our customers. The ideal candidate must have a hands-on attitude, a desire to learn and adapt to continuous changes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with Brokers and Logistics companies to arrange the shipment of products to customers, negotiating the best prices for our customers.
  • Coordinates transfers to and from our sister locations, coordinating with their peers at each location.
  • Creates updates in Microsoft Business Central and Adobe Workfront for items shipped.
  • Generates shipping documents, such as BOLs.
  • Receives materials, verifying that the PO line items and quantities match the packing slips upon receiving items and updates our inventory in Business Central.
  • Counts and tags all incoming inventory with Allied Modular part numbers on items received.
  • Runs MRP & generates purchase orders and issues them according to the dollar authorization matrix as outlined in the corporate policy.
  • Confirms, updates, and follows up on purchase orders based on vendor confirmation.
  • Ensures all raw materials arrive on time for production.
  • Coordinates purchase order ETAs with the Production Manager to help establish accurate shipping dates.
  • Track purchase credits from vendors.
  • Coordinates the purchase of office materials and supplies.
  • Generates inventory reports for cycle counting as this person is responsible for accurate inventory counts.
  • Assists the Materials Manager in managing minimum inventory and updating direct costs as directed and authorized.
  • Responsible for printing production folders including Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and the associated drawings for each job and organizing and distributing the PRDs out to the production floor.
  • Informs Services team on manufacturing updates during production meetings using the Sales Order Report. Provide status of current projects in process including manufacturing shipping dates, material issues, etc.
  • Coordinates, resolves, and communicates any manufacturing issues with Project Managers.
  • Records quality control forms and pictures, verifying the team is processing our quality records accordingly.
  • Promotes a positive working environment conducive to a team atmosphere in alignment with the Allied Modular culture.
  • Monitor and change all sales prices based on standard margins and cost of manufacturing and purchasing, this includes updating Item SKU cards when pricing changes occur.
  • Maintain all cost and pricing data in both our CRM and manufacturing systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 5 years equivalent job experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Configure, Price, Quote experience a plus
  • A customer-centric approach to data-driven recommendations
  • Must be organized, utilize creative thinking skills, and have a high regard for attention to detail ·
  • Job requires extreme accuracy in data entry and the review of supporting documentation
  • Clear understanding of margin versus markup
  • Clear understanding of manufacturing and bill of materials.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal but can fluctuate during times of production. The environment can be dusty at times.
